The Community Food Cupboard is a pilot initiative in collaboration with the Bow Valley Food Bank, Bow Valley Food Alliance, FCSS Canmore, and the Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley (HSBV). Partially funded by the Banff Canmore Foundation and supported by Canmore Community Housing.

Hours:

  • Monday 9 AM to 1 PM (in person Outreach services available)

  • Tuesday 12 PM to 4 PM (in person Outreach services available)

  • Friday 1 PM to 5 PM (in person Outreach services available)

  • Saturday 10 AM to 2 PM (cupboard only)

The Community Food Cupboard is a free resources to anyone facing food insecurity.

What food products are available through the Community Food Cupboard?

Dehydrated, shelf stable, and canned goods (e.g., tuna, soup, noodles, juice, beans) are typically available, depending on supply. Hygiene products (e.g., soap, toothpaste) are also available, depending on supply.

Is there a limit to how much I can take?

We ask that Community Food Cupboard users take what they need while keeping the needs of others in mind.

Where does the food come from?

All food products are donated by the Bow Valley Food Bank.

Do I have to disclose any personal information to access the Community Food Cupboard?

Disclosure of personal information is not required to access the Community Food Cupboard, individuals can simply come in and take what they need. In person Outreach services are available, which may require disclosure of some personal information.

Directions

  1. Start in Downtown Canmore: Head to Canmore Community Housing Office (729 10th St.) near the Canmore Civic Centre

  2. Head Inside the Building: Look to your right to find a donor and a sign leading to Room #100 (not Room #100B)

  3. Enter Room #100 and Arrive: Spot the Community Food Cupboard on your right and the HSBV office space on your left
